Value Architecture: Engineering the Four Levels of Impact (BVP to CVP)
Within Playbook 2 (Value Positioning), we establish four distinct levels of impact. This architecture ensures that your RAi Cognition Engine and your senior sellers are always aligned with the buyer’s specific needs.
The Four Levels of the Value Chain
1. Brand Value Proposition (BVP): The Market Insight
Governed by Play 2.1
Your BVP is your overarching promise. In the RAOS, it follows a strict four-layer structure: Market Problem → Insight → Resolution → Proof. If a competitor can credibly claim your “Insight,” it is a parity statement, not a BVP. The BVP fuels Play 7.1 (Market Awareness).
2. Offer Value Proposition (OVP): The Mechanism
Governed by Play 2.3
Every tier of your product or service requires a specific OVP. This highlights the distinct mechanism and outcomes of the offer itself, independent of the persona. We use the 2×2 Value Differentiation Matrix here to visually map your OVP against the competitive landscape.
3. Audience Value Proposition (AVP): The Segment Relevance
Governed by Play 2.1
The AVP translates the OVP into the specific language, metrics, and Pain Ladders of a particular segment. This is the content layer that powers Play 7.3 (Pipeline Nurture) and ensures your Engagement Personas™ feel uniquely understood.
4. Customer Value Proposition (CVP): The Economic Case
Governed by Play 8.2
The CVP is the ultimate synthesis. It combines BVP, OVP, and AVP with the Pain in the Present confirmed during Play 8.1 (Collaborative Discovery). This serves as the foundation for the CFO Bridge and Play 8.3 (Economic Validation).
The Narrative Engine: The SCQA Framework
To deliver this architecture, we utilize SCQA (Situation, Complication, Question, Answer). This framework ensures your communication is always buyer-centric, guiding them logically from their current reality to your resolution.
- Situation: Establish common ground by describing the buyer’s current, accepted reality.
- Complication: Introduce the friction or pain point that makes the current situation unsustainable (The “Why Change?”).
- Question: Formulate the natural question arising from the complication: “How do we solve this?”
- Answer: Present your solution as the direct, architectural resolution to that question.
Our Approach: Engineering the Narrative
We don’t just “brainstorm”; we follow a disciplined three-stage play:
- Input & Discovery: Gathering raw material from win/loss data and stakeholder interviews.
- Messaging Strategy: Defining the core differentiators and 2×2 Matrix positions.
- Message Development: Drafting the Message Maps™ and Value Architecture Documents that calibrate your RAi Discovery and Orchestration Agents.
Architect’s Note: Precision in Value Architecture is the antidote to commoditization. When you move from BVP down to a quantified CVP, you stop selling features and start selling Economic Certainty.
